Yes, a pregnant, dark-haired Britney Spears has taken her clothes off for the cover of fashion glossy Harper’s Bazaar.
Photographs from the June 22 shoot for the August issue, on sale July 25, were leaked online and appeared on several celebrity websites. They show Spears, who is expecting her second child, in her full maternal glory. In one photo, she holds her son, Sean Preston, 9 months. The cover is the only official image the magazine is releasing.

The photograph by Alexi Lubomirski earns inevitable comparisons to Demi Moore’s famous 1991 pregnancy cover shot in Vanity Fair.

The coiffed and styled Spears in the photographs looks very different from the disheveled, teary blond pop singer who spoke to NBC’s Matt Lauer this month to deny reports that her marriage to Kevin Federline was on the rocks and to ask paparazzi to give her some respect.

The Harper’s Bazaar cover story is just another addition to Spears’ recent media blitz. She tells the Monday issue of OK! magazine, on stands now, that she was “very surprised” when she found out about the second pregnancy. But, she says, “being a mom is one of the most sacred things there is.”

Briefs for Jive Records have said that anyone who publishes, sells or otherwise exploits any of these images in any way will be subject to liability and damages for willful infringement of copyright, and will be liable for invasion of privacy.

Among those who apparently in the soup is TangibleBrit.com, a Britney Spears fan site. It has already apologised over the weekend after posting the pictures and taken then down as has WorldOfBritney.com and BritneySpears.org, which took them down earlier.

Until the web pictures appeared there had been no clear pictures of Spears junior and magazines have been negotiating for huge wodges of cash for pics for readers to coo at.

As eBay bidding surpassed $33,000 on a “jewel encrusted” brassiere once worn by Spears, Us Weekly was reporting that an insider in the singer’s camp had “threatened” to go public with footage of her and Federline engaged in a meeting of the minds.

The “raunchy” SEX TAPE is a dupe of one from Spears and Federline’s private cinema collection, the magazine said, per reports. The original was said to be produced during the early stages of Spears’ pregnancy with the latest Federline offspring, son Sean Preston, born Sept. 14.

An email seeking comment from Spears’ rep was not returned Thursday.

While Spears might be loathe to star in an unauthorized production, she’s all for authorized UNDERWEAR sales.
